The Company encourages and boosts donations from employees, agents, and retirees. In 2018, more than 10,300 participants donated $5 million. State Farm nearly doubled the giving: Roughly 7,500 eligible non-profits received matching gifts totaling over $4 million.

The 100 for Good program challenges employees and agents to perform 100 Acts of Good by the Company’s 100th anniversary in 2022. Acts of Good help others and improve communities.

Good Neighbor Grants

This program awards a $500 grant to an eligible non-profit on behalf of a State Farm employee, team, agent, or retiree who volunteers a minimum of 40 hours per calendar year.

1963

State Farm Companies Foundation

To encourage State Farm associates to be good neighbors by giving back to the communities where they live and work.

1985

Matching Gift – Higher Education Program

Encourages State Farm associates to support higher education. State Farm Companies Foundation will match limited charitable contributions made by eligible State Farm associates and retirees to qualified two- and four-year U.S. colleges and universities.

1999

Good Neighbor Grant Individual Program

The State Farm Companies Foundation awards grants on behalf of each eligible State Farm employee, agent, or retiree who volunteers a minimum of 40 hours per calendar year to an eligible nonprofit organization.

2001

Implemented the Good Neighbor Citizenship Grant Program

Provides the opportunity for State Farm to support Educational Institutions, Government entities, and qualifying nonprofit organizations.

2014

Started Back to School Supply, Peanut Butter, and the Holiday Gift Drives

Offers State Farm employees opportunities to work together to meet the needs of communities across the country.

2016

Employee Resource Group (ERG) Grant Program

Each ERG receives a philanthropic budget to support nonprofits that align with their mission and vision.

Matching Gift – Charitable Organization Program

Provides the opportunity for State Farm to support qualifying nonprofit organizations, including K-12 public and private schools.

2019

Good Neighbor Grant Team Program

State Farm employees, agents, and retirees may volunteer as a team for an eligible nonprofit organization. Once the team accrues a minimum of 40 hours in a calendar year, State Farm Companies Foundation awards a grant to the nonprofit organization on behalf of that team.
